What is an iGenerator WatchDog-LAN? 

An intelligent monitoring device that informs you automatically of the status of your generator.

It's main feature is that it uses your local wifi connection to transmit the status of your generator.

You will receive alerts via email when a fault is detected, with detailed status logs available on our server.

How does it work?

    •    We detect changes in the voltage supplied by the utility, the voltage supplied by the generator, and the voltage of the "load" (your home, or your office).
    •    The device works on residential single phase (monitors both legs) and works on commercial 3 phase with an extra set of sensors to monitor all 3 legs.
    •    You will be notified of all regular weekly self test, as well as any utility failure, generator failure, or transfer switch failure.
    •    Your installer will also be notified, if you choose so, in order that an eventual repair can be performed quickly.

What do I need to install it?

The device is very easy to install, but it needs 2 things to work properly:

a) 12 Volts DC , which is readily available in most of the transfer switches, being fed from the generator battery.

b) a LAN connection to your router.

What does the box contain?

It contains a monitoring device mounted in a waterproof plastic case, and six pre-wired voltage sensors.  For 3 phase systems you need to order a kit containing 3 more pre-wired sensors.

Who can install it?

Although there is no physical connection to any high voltage cable, and therefore you could install it yourself, we recommend that your generator installer/electrician does it.  He/she will likely be very familiar with the location of your transfer switch and can also measure the WiFi strength.

Do not have an installer?

You can purchase the installation directly here on our web site. All our certified installers in your area will appear on a list with their fee, and you can choose the one you prefer. If you purchase the installation from us, the price of the installation is fixed at the time of purchase. There will be no surprises.  We will remit the installation amount directly to the installer.

You can purchase the LAN version of WATCHDOG. The installation costs will be the same provided that:
a) your transfer switch is INDOOR
b) You have a LAN rj45 plug near the transfer switch (within 10 feet)
